Grand One World Day!!!

30th January 2002; 7:30 pm

Anson Rooms, University of Bristol Union Building, Bristol

One World Day 2002 was great!!! The event was a grand one this year! We had performances and stalls from all over the world. Everyone enjoyed the shows and tried some delicious and mouth watering foods from around the world. We also had a world music and visual display session just after the prize ceremony when everyone got ziggy with some great music in the background and cool displays to mesmerize them! It was, indeed, an unforgettable experience! The pictures are HERE!!!!

We had a Mexican dominance with the Mexican society winning (marked by the audience) both the performance and stall prizes with their brilliant and scintillating dance and brilliant traditional items on display! Tango Argentino and the Arabic stall got the second prizes in the performance and stall sections respectively. But, it was a close competition between the greats! And, I am happy to have organised such an event!

BBC Bristol Radio's 'Sangam' programme interviewed the Overseas Officer and some students which you can listen to by clicking here.

Thank you for being there!!!
